Account and Data Deletion

We respect your right to control your data. This page explains how you can permanently delete your account and what happens to your associated data when you do.

How to Delete Your Account?

You can delete your account directly from within the app by following these steps:

Open the ClipKing app and make sure you are logged in.
Navigate to your Profile page.
Scroll to the bottom of the page.
Tap on the “Delete Account” link.
A confirmation dialog will appear explaining that the action is permanent. Tap “Delete” to proceed.
For security, you will be prompted to re-enter your password to finalize the deletion.

Once these steps are completed, your account and associated data will be permanently removed from our systems.

Permanent removal

What Data is Deleted?

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently deleted:

Firebase Authentication Account: Your login credentials (email and password), user ID, profile picture URL, and display name are completely removed from our authentication system.
User Profile in Firestore: Your entire user document from our users collection is deleted. This includes:
- Your User ID
- Username
- Email Address
- Birth Date
- Parent's Email (if provided)
- Your current ClipChips balance

Limited retention

What Data May Be Retained?

For legal, financial, and analytical integrity, we may retain a non-personally identifiable record of in-app purchases.

Purchase History: Records in our clipchips_purchases collection are retained for financial auditing and reporting. These records contain an anonymous user ID, the product purchased, and the timestamp, but are no longer linked to a specific, identifiable user account.
Profile Picture in Storage: Your uploaded profile picture file may remain in our secure cloud storage for a short period (e.g., up to 30 days) as part of our automated backup cycles before being permanently purged. It will no longer be associated with any account.
